Courtyard Curves

 

This small and oddly shaped courtyard garden provides a restful space to dine and enjoy time outdoors in a low-maintenance setting, using a range of natural materials.  The French windows lead on to a dining patio, paved in a warm-toned natural stone, with a circular feature creating interest as well as space for a table and chairs.  Climbing plants on trellis panels clothe walls and fences to soften the boundaries.

The circle leads to a gravel area which is given shape by curving lines of block edging, and height is brought in to the garden by two wooden obelisks in planters. Planted mixed borders edged with blocks create colour along each side of the garden.
