Jardin Design

This design reflects the simple interior style of the house, creating interest along the long narrow plot as clean lines give way to more informal curves, complemented by architectural foliage planting.  Warm-toned natural materials – gravel, wood and brick – and the use of plants selected for their form and texture, all bring tonal and textural interest into this small city garden.

The incline in the garden is bordered with a low retaining wall behind the octagonal seating area.  As the ground slopes upwards, planting creates a more informal, natural area, with the sloping ground retained with chunky timbers, and the brick-edged gravel path curving its way towards the rear of the garden.
